First Book Feature: The Wildlife Blog Collection 2018 by Terra Incognita

If you recall correctly from late 2018, this blog site received an amazing opportunity and was entered into the Wildlife Blogger of the Year 2018 competition which was hosted by Terra Incognita. The competition’s primary goal was to allow wildlife bloggers to share their talents with story writing, obtain recognition for their work and get rewarded for it. It was really amazing as at least 90+ individuals shared their experiences from wildlife encounters to conservation/environmental related issues that needed to be shared to the world. Terra Incognita gave us all that voice and even though everybody couldn’t win the 1st place/runner’s ups positions and its prizes – there was a recent announcement that at least 70 stories from the Wildlife Blogger of the Year 2018 competition will be selected for a forthcoming eBook which will be released and available from February 14th 2019 – Valentines Day.

After finishing at 11th place in the competition out of 90 other contestants worldwide, Terra Incognita emailed me to state that my blog entry will be featured in the upcoming eBook. I was delighted to hear this and it made me realise and understand even more that storytelling is a powerful tool in today’s age and if carried out correctly – it is possible to really contribute towards positive change and good causes. Please relive my experiences in South Africa with the African Wild Dog’s (which is also referred to as the Painted Wolf) by clicking onto my blog entry.

NOTE: In preparation with creating this new eBook, Terra Incognita stated that a small percentage of the proceeds raised would go to an undeclared charity. As a wildlife blogging community, we all sadly found out that a young and courageous wildlife conservationist/fellow Terra Incognita competition constant Alex Chalkley lost his life. It has been confirmed that he lost his life carrying out important conservation work in Malawi. Terra Incognita has been in touch with his family and found out that Alex was fond of an organisation called Tusk and their work. Therefore, Terra Incognita will be donating 10% of all book sale proceeds to Tusk in the memory of Alex. Please ensure that Alex’s courageous work lives on by purchasing a copy today. Thank You!
